What is this chart good for?

It shows the road speed at every rpm in every gear — the classic saw-tooth gearing chart. You can read your cruising rpm at 110 km/h, see how much the revs drop at each shift, and check what a sprocket or tire change would do before spending money.

Where do I find my gear ratios?

In the owner's or service manual, usually under "transmission" — listed either as ratios (2.846) or tooth pairs (37/13, divide to get the ratio). The primary reduction and final drive (front/rear sprocket teeth) are listed the same way. Manufacturer spec sheets online carry them too.

I do not know my ratios — can I still use it?

Yes. Enter one real measurement — the speed you see at a known rpm in top gear — and the simulator calibrates itself to that point. The chart shape then relies on the default ratio spacing, so per-gear figures are approximate, but cruising-rpm questions get a solid answer.

What does the rpm drop between gears tell me?

How well the gears connect. A small drop (say 12,000 → 10,200) keeps a sporty engine in its power band; a big drop into a torquey midrange suits touring. If the drop lands below your power band, that gap explains why the bike feels flat after shifting.

What happens to this chart if I change tire size?

A taller tire raises every speed slightly (and lowers cruising rpm); a shorter one does the opposite — by the same percentage as the circumference change. Enter the new size above and compare; the tire tool shows the diameter math in detail.

And if I change sprockets?

Changing the final drive shifts the whole chart at once: shorter gearing (bigger rear) moves every line left — livelier but busier at cruise; taller gearing does the reverse. Set the front/rear teeth above to preview it, and use the chain calculator for ratio and chain-length details.
